Assignment Title: Design Review, Contract  Administration and Supervision Works of Design-Build of ICT Park Infrastructure and Landscaping Project.

The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), Industrial Parks Development Corporation has allocated funds and intends to apply part of the proceeds of these funds towards the cost for selection and employment of consulting firm for Design Review, Contract Administration and Supervision Works of Design-Build of ICT Park Infrastructure and Landscaping Project.

The General Objective of the Assignment

The main objective of the assignment sought under the upcoming RFP is to act as “Engineer” as defined under the works contract (FIDIC yellow Book).

Specific Objectives of the assignment includes:

  • Check and approve the contractors design for ICT Park Infrastructure and Landscaping Project.
  • Supervise the construction works as per the detailed design and drawing and specifications prepared by the contractor through the construction phase and,
  • Defect liability by acting as” Engineer” as defined under the works contract (FIDIC yellow Book).

The scope of the service:

The task will consisting of furnishing Consultancy Service for Design Checking and Approval, Contract Administration and Supervision Service, including all sites and office works in strict accordance with the highest standard of the engineering profession with  proper interpretation of duties and responsibility of the Engineer. The scope the services include the activities  needed to achieve the objective of the assignment which is divided in to Mobilization, Design Review and Approval and Supervision Work and Defect Liability.

The duration of the assignment will be 12 (Twelve) Months from issuance of Notice to Proceed

The Industrial Parks Development Cooperation (IPDC) now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the consultancy service. Interested consulting firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the service. The information to be provided includes company brochures, description of similar assignments, description of core business and years in business, experience in similar conditions  and availability of appropriate skills among staffs and managerial, financial and technical capabilities.

The following criteria will be used to assess the Expression of Interest for shortlisting:

  • Core business and years in business.
  • Relevant experience in similar assignment.
  • Qualification of Key Personnel and availability of  appropriate skills.
  • Technical & managerial capabilities.
  • Financial Resource.

The consulting firm will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the IPDC’s Procurement Management & Policy and Procedure Manual: Selection and Employment of Consultants. The method of selection  is Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS).

Interested consultants may obtain further information at the adders below Monday to Friday during office hours from 8:30 am to 12:30 am and 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below at or before December 16, 2020, at 5:00 Pm in the afternoon. Late submissions shall be rejected.
