PLAN INTERNATIONAL ETIOPIA

CALL CONSULTANTS FOR BASELINE STUDY OF

JOINING FORCES FOR AFRICA PROJECT

  • Re-Tender
  • Bid No. PIE/PRM/11/2021

Founded over 80 years ago, Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organization with no religious, political, or governmental affiliations. Plan International works in more than 70 countries around the world, including Ethiopia, to empower communities, families, and children to advance their wellbeing and equality for girls. Child sponsorship is the basic foundation of the organization.

We believe in the power and potential of every child, specifically girls, as they are the most affected. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion, and discrimination. Working together with children, young people, our supporters, and partners, we strive for a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

Plan International’s programs in Ethiopia focus on Child Protection, Education, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Food and Economic Security, Humanitarian Response and Resilience Building that we implement Amhara, Oromia, Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ (SNNP), Gambella, Afar, and the Benishangul-Gumuz Regional States and Addis Ababa City Administration. Common to these, issues of gender and disability are also integrated and mainstreamed in all programs.

Currently, on behalf of “The Joining Forces Alliance Initiative”, Plan International Ethiopia (PIE) jointly with SOS Children’s Village (SOS CV) Ethiopia is implementing a consortium project titled “Joining Forces for Africa (JOFA)-protecting children during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond in four selected districts of Benishangul-Gumuz regional state Assosa Zone (Homosha and Mao-Komo districts) and Oromia regional state East Hararghe (Chinakesen and Babillie districts) of Ethiopia.

The Joining Forces Alliance Initiative, with the aim to accelerate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) for Children, is a collaboration between the six biggest child-focused agencies Child Fund Alliance, Plan International, Save the Children International, SOS Children’s Villages International, Terre des Hommes International Federation, and World Vision International. Given the current humanitarian crisis unfolding due to COVID-19 and its secondary impacts, the Joining Forces consortium has been awarded grants from the EU to address the major child protection issues arising from and exacerbated by COVID-19.
