Call for Tender:

Organizational development strategy and road map for NABU Ethiopia.

For more than a hundred years, Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU) has been promoting the interests of people and nature, drawing on its unwavering commitment, specialized know-how, and the backing of 770,000 members and supporters. NABU is Germany’s oldest and largest conservation NGO with its headquarter in the capital and 15 regional branch offices in almost every federal state of Germany. It has over 2,000 volunteer groups around the country that support NABU’s work.

For many years, NABU has also been internationally active, particularly in Africa, the Caucasus, and Asia. Since 2010 NABU is registered as an international NGO in Ethiopia (re-registered in 2019) and has gained wide-ranging experience in the implementation of projects in the country. NABU has supported the Ethiopian government on the designation of Kafa Biosphere Reserve and Lake

Tana Biosphere Reserve, aiming to preserve the natural assets and ecosystem services of the country, NABU has been active in Kafa, Sheka and Bench-Sheko Zones of the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Regional State, Lake

Tana watershed in the Amhara National Regional State as well as in Yayu Coffee Forest Biosphere Reserve in Oromia National Regional State.

As part of running project implementation, NABU Ethiopia shall be transformed into a national NGO.

NABU is therefore seeking a qualified and well experienced legal consultant with experience in organizational development for planning a smooth transfer for NABU international into becoming a local NGO (NABU Ethiopia) and therefore succeeding as a member of the national civil society.
