INVITATION TO BID 

FOR THE CONSTRUCTRUCTION OF RAINWATER

HARVESTING SCHEME PROJECT

IAG-E is Implementing a project supported by EU-EUTF under a contract awarded No. 254-009161(18-EUTF-RASMI-1004). For this project, IAG-E would like to accomplish the Construction of a Rain Water Harvesting Scheme Project that is to be executed in Somali Regional State, Dawa Zone, Mubarek Woreda, Malkamari district/kebele, Ethiopia. In detail, the project encompasses the construction of one surface reservoir with ancillary works; one cow & camel watering trough; and one goat & sheep watering trough. IAG now wants to invite all interested and eligible contractors of grade WWC/GC-5 and above to participate in the bid by providing written application together with copies of the following legal and mandatory documents:-

  • Relevant business license renewed for the fiscal year 2013 E.C.
  • Value Added Tax (VAT) & Tax-Payer Identification (TIN) registration certificates
  • Registration certificate from Federal or Regional Water Resource, Mine and Electricity Ministry or Bureau renewed for the year 2013
  • One page summary in water-related work experience

A bid document in English can be purchased from the IAG office or Mubarek woreda upon paying a non-refundable fee of 500.00 ETB in cash and according to the timetable provided in the table below.

The bidder shall sign and seal the original and copy of the bid document in separate securely closed envelopes duly marking the envelopes as “ORIGINAL” and “COPY” as appropriate underneath the name of the project and the client’s name and address.

The original and copy shall be delivered wrapped using another external envelope. All envelopes must be duly signed and sealed by the company’s authorized personnel. A separate sealed envelope marked “BID BOND” carrying the bidder’s Bid security/bond of 2% CPO or unconditional bank guarantee & the contractor’s “TECHNICAL DOCUMENT” should be included in the envelope containing the original financial document.

The bidder shall submit “TITLE DEED” for ownership of the construction machinery required or a lease agreement from the machinery renter that shall be valid for the entire project life. The required earthmoving machinery includes Bulldozer and/or Excavator, Loader, Dumper Truck/s, and Vibratory Compactor/Roller. The minimum capacity and productivity for the earthmoving machinery to be employed and the minimum daily operating hours envisaged shall be clearly stated, signed, and sealed to be delivered as a separate attachment in the technical document.

The original document shall be filled in ink for stating the bid-offer. The completed tender document shall be submitted in person at the IAG office. The tender submitted after the deadline will be automatically rejected. Failing to fulfill all the necessary conditions outlined in this invitation can result in disqualification. IAG also reserves the right to reject all or part of the bid.
