The initiative of the Ethiopian Government has secured financing support from the WorldBank under the EASTRIP to strengthen selected TVET colleges to become Centres of excellence for high-quality skills training and development in selected priority sectors. Oneif the selected beneficiaries is the Federal TVET Institute to establish a Centres ofExcellence for Precision Tool & Die Making and Leather and Leather Products”, and tends to apply part of the proceeds for Consulting Services. accordingly, the Federal Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institute on behalf of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has planned to engage a consultant to provide services for the main campus and 15 regional satellite colleges to study, design, develop, test, and implement web-based Electronic Student Information management System (eSiMS).

The Consulting Services include:

study and analyze the current system and existing registrar systemarchitect the general system and designdesign and development of the eSiMSTigrating existing data to the new systemrepare all necessary technical documents (RAD, SDD, TP etc.), manuals and trainingthe consulting firm is required to perform the following major component andrelated activities:

  • Deliver System Requirement Specification
  • Design & developing Web based eSiMS
  • Develop Integrated System with central data base
  • Backup & Recovery
  • Deployment of the system
  • Provide Systems Administration and Management Functions
  • System Analysis, Design and Customization/Development
  • Provide Training and training materials
  • Data Conversion and Migration
  • Provide manual & Documentation requirements
  • Post implementation Technical Support etc.

Consultants may associate with other firms to enhance their qualifications, but should indicateclearly whether the association is in the form of a joint venture and/or a sub consultancy. Inthe case of a joint venture, all the partners in the joint venture shall be jointly and severallyliable for the entire contract, if selected.
