1. BACKGROUND OF CBM ETHIOPIA

Christoffel Blindenmission – Christian Blind Mission (CBM) is an international Christian Disability and Inclusive Development Organization committed to improving the quality of lives of persons with disabilities and those at risk of disability in the poorest countries of the world. Based on its Christian values and over 100 years of professional expertise, CBM addresses poverty as a cause buys in the poorest countries of the world. Based on is Christian values and a consequence of disability and works in partnership with and through government and non-governmental organizations to create a society for all. CBM, as a development partner of Ethiopia, in partnership with key stakeholders, is engaged in Growth and Development Transformation processes of the country in the areas of Health, Education, Livelihoods, Emergency, Socialehd Economic Empowerment of persons with disabilities, their families, and those who are at risk of disability since 1967 (G.6). In order to improve the quality of lives of persons with disabilities and those at risk of disability, CBM has been focusing on capacity development of partners; disability and inclusive development; program and organizational sustainability; networking and alliance building.

CBM Ethiopia Country Office is located in Addis Ababa, and consists of 20local staff members, 1 Regional Eye Health Advisors, 1 expatriate ENTSurgeon and it is led by the expatriate Country Director. In 2020 CBM Ethiopia has supported 39 projects, implemented by 23 partners in Addis Ababa, Oromia, Amhara, SNNPR, and Tigray, for a total budget of more than 4 million Euro. In 2020, due to COVID-19, all projects have been strongly affected by the restrictions imposed in terms of traveling, social gathering, and field activities.

To this regard, CBM Ethiopia has allowed all partners to re-designate funds from ongoing projects to COVID-19 activities, in order to address the challenges faced by persons with disabilities and their families.

2. SCOPE OF THE CONSULTANCY, SCOPE, AND INTENDED USE

the overall objective of the Consultancy is to develop and produce an institutional Profile Booklet of CBM Ethiopia work, to be used as a visibility and communication tool towards donors, partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

3. EXPECTED DELIVERABLES

The Consultant shall be expected to submit:

  • The proposed structure of the booklet, within 5 days from the signature of the contract
  • Draft booklet, within 20 days from the start of the signature of the contract.
  • Final booklet, incorporating comments and the amendments proposed by the Contracting Authority – within 30 days from the start of the signature of the contract.
  • Printing of the 500 copies of the report, within 45 days from the signature of the contract.

4. APPLICATION, COSTS AND PAYMENTS

Qualified and interested Individuals or consulting companies must include in their expression of interest the following: Cover letter, Detailed CVs, Technical Proposal, All-inclusive Financial Proposal, Detailed work plan, an indication of availability during a suggested time frame, and copies of certificates of compliance – Renewed Business License and Registration, VATCertificate, TIN Certificate. The payment schedule shall be as per the contractual agreement. CBM reserves the right to terminate the contract in case the agreed team members are not available at the start of the assignment and if no equally qualified can be provided.

Kindly note that only applicants who meet the specified qualifications will be considered for an interview. CBM may ask for samples of previous work during the selection process. The CO ETH will review all applications and communicate the winning applicant by the 5th of November
